Bernard Michel is the former Chief Executive Officer of Cameco Corporation, the world’s largest uranium supplier, uranium refiner and converter.
Before retiring from Cameco, Bernard steered the operations and management of the company through a merger, restructuring, expansion in the uranium business and diversification into gold.
Bernard’s career spans 35 years in the mining and nuclear industry in Europe and North America. Prior to joining Cameco, Bernard was President of Amok Ltd., a Canadian subsidiary of Cogema, a French Nuclear company.
Bernard graduated in engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France. Bernard is also a member of the Boards of Directors for the Canadian Nuclear Association, Luscar Ltd. and Ipsco Inc. and Chair, North American Kyrgyz Business Council.
