Bruce Power’s donation of $30,000 is to support the six Relay for Life events that will be held throughout the region this summer.

Bruce Power is helping our region fight cancer.

The company made a donation of $30,000 to the Bluewater Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society on Monday, June 4, in support of six Relay for Life events in the Bruce/Grey region, which will be held in the coming months.

Relay for Life is the Canadian Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event and one that makes the greatest impact in the lives of people living with cancer. These 12-hour, overnight events, held from June to September, symbolize that cancer doesn’t sleep. The events support the society’s mission of the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer through research, education, patient services and advocacy for healthy public policy.

You too can pick a fight with cancer. Join thousands of people across Ontario at your local event. Visit www.relayforlife.ca to sign up your team, raise funds or donate. Bruce Power is proud to sponsor the following six local events in our region:

- Saugeen Shores – June 8
- Town of Blue Mountains – July 20
- Kincardine and area – Aug. 10
- Mildmay – Aug. 17
- Hanover – Sept. 7
- Owen Sound – Sept. 14

The Saugeen Shores event begins at 7 p.m., on June 8. Teams can still sign up for all area events, and you can sponsor a team by visiting www.relayforlife.ca and choosing the town event you’d like to donate to.
