First Nations Interpretive Program launches at Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre


Mike Briggs, Manager of First Nations and Métis Relations, Bruce Power; Pedobnoque Shawbedees, Literacy Program Coordinator, Saugeen First Nation; Jake Linklater, Saugeen Ojibway Nation Environmental Office, Cape Croker; and Barbara Ribey, Director/Curator, Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre look on as drummers perform at the First Nations Interpretive Program launch on July 24 at the Museum in Southampton. Bruce Power provided $20,000 in funding for the inaugural program that will take place Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., through July and August. Visitors to the Museum will be invited to learn about Native culture by taking part in and watching various demonstrations including moccasin and dream catcher making, basket weaving, and traditional storytelling.
