Bruce Power has pledged $75,000 to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation’s ‘Our Hospital, Our Future’ campaign.

The foundation has raised 90 per cent of the $4 million it needs to expand six of its hospital’s departments, including the only chemotherapy clinic in Bruce and Huron counties, replacement of the digital imaging equipment and the creation of a community health care campus.

James Scongack, Bruce Power’s Vice President, Corporate Affairs, said community-driven campaigns such as Wingham’s are essential to the long-term availability of health care services in rural Ontario, and Bruce Power is proud to play a role in these successes.

“Bruce Power makes every effort to assist these core fundraising campaigns as they seek to improve the quality of life for residents in our region,” Scongack said. “Any time we can help maintain or increase the standard of health care in our area, we are helping to improve our communities.”

Scott Miller, campaign team leader for Our Hospital, Our Future, said Bruce Power’s contribution is a boost for the fundraising initiative.

“It’s great that Bruce Power recognizes the value of the Wingham Hospital to their employees and residents of our community,” Miller said.
