The Kincardine Women’s Triathlon is set to take place Saturday, July 14.

The race starts with a 375 metre swim from Station Beach in Lake Huron at 9 a.m. The race, in its  twelfth year, is sponsored in part by Bruce Power with proceeds supporting March of Dimes Canada.

The highly successful race, founded by Janet Bannerman in 2001, sells out every year within days of registration opening. A unique, all-female competition, it provides women the opportunity to feel comfortable and empowered whether new to triathlons or seasoned racers.

“Three years ago, a friend of mine convinced me to do this race,” said Melanie Fischer, race director. “My life changed forever when I crossed that finish line. I wish all the women this year the same empowering feeling that I felt that day!”

And Bruce Power wishes all the participants a safe, fun and successful race.
