The Municipality of Kincardine will be testing the public alerting sirens on Wednesday, July 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All eight sirens will operate simultaneously for three minutes, then again for a shorter duration, and then each siren will sound individually. The tests are being done to confirm the activation and the function of the newly refurbished public alerting sirens.

In the unlikely event of a nuclear emergency, the public alerting sirens are part of the communication system used to notify anyone within three kilometres of Bruce Power.

The system is operated, maintained and activated by the Municipality of Kincardine on behalf of the province.

For more information, visit the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre on Bruce Rd. 20, west of Hwy. 21, and just north of Tiverton.
