The Saugeen RED TREE (Rural Economic Development Through Restorative Environmental Engagement) Program Calendar Art Auction is on display at Bruce Power’s Corporate Support Centre through Aug. 12.

The travelling art show features silent auction items to bid on, including paintings, quill boxes, dreamcatchers, birch bark crafts and more.

This year’s show is inspired by the ‘Seven Grandfather Teachings and the Land.’ Funds raised will support the livelihood of the talented artists from the Saugeen First Nation in addition to the RED TREE program.

The program began in 2013 with the intention of growing healthy food for community using traditional and modern techniques of forest and community gardening, providing meaningful working education, and embracing our responsibility as stewards of this land.

The RED TREE Program Calendar Art Auction will also visit the Tom Thomson Art Gallery, Owen Sound, from Aug. 15-27, while online/telephone bidding will be accepted from Aug. 28-29 (bidding closes at 5 p.m., Aug. 29).
