This morning, ROB Magazine published a story focusing primarily on nuclear waste management issues in Ontario.

While Bruce Power does not comment on waste issues that Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) manage, we believe there are a number of inaccurate and sensational statements related to Bruce Power in the article.

Bruce Power safely operates its facilities and, since 2001, has invested billions to both extend the life of its units and fund long-term liabilities such as waste and decommissioning. Any suggestion that Bruce Power is not fully funding these items is simply inaccurate.

We also have a workforce that is passionate about what they do and always act with utmost professionalism. Any criticism, using select and out-of-context quotes, is simply unfounded and unfair. Whenever we have visitors to our site, they comment on the high degree of professionalism of our people.

Bruce Power believes in openness and transparency but will not engage in media discussions that are not going to be based on facts. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts.
