Bruce Power donated $20,000 to the Pine River Watershed Initiative Network (PRWIN) for work along the Penetangore Watershed, on Conc. 5, Kincardine.

The funding came from Bruce Power’s Environment and Sustainability Fund, which assists environmental initiatives in our communities.

The project, which saw Bruce Power and the Ministry of Environment team up with PRWIN, saw over 3,300 trees planted, with 650 of them being hand-planted by volunteers from Kincardine District Secondary School, in partnership with the Penetangore Watershed Group and Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority.

Livestock exclusion fencing was also installed along both sides of the river throughout the property, while an alternative water source was implemented for the cattle.
