Bruce Power welcomes policy certainty in Ontario budget

Bruce Power welcomes yesterday’s provincial budget, which provides policy certainty for continued private sector investment in our nuclear fleet as a source of stable, low-cost power and job creation.

We also look forward to building on this by positioning Ontario as a global leader in the export of life-saving medical isotopes.

Bruce Power’s focus on innovation, simplification and delivering efficiencies, while increasing site output and reliability, will result in Ontario electricity consumers benefitting from over $200 million in efficiency payments between 2019 and 2021.

Our company will continue to provide over 30 per cent of Ontario’s electricity at 30 per cent less than the average cost to generate residential power. As Ontario’s first private nuclear generator, Bruce Power provides affordable, emissions-free electricity, supports the skilled trades, and provides innovative solutions to environmental and health care challenges throughout Ontario and around the world.

Coupled with a stable policy environment at the provincial level, Bruce Power’s Life-Extension Program will inject billions of dollars into the Ontario and Canadian economies, generating value for industry, communities, and governments.

As the budget highlights, Bruce Power will continue providing more for less for Ontario families, finding solutions to meet our future energy needs, and ensuring Ontario’s economy remains strong for decades.
