This morning, following yesterday’s federal election, Bruce Power released a briefing document for Canada’s 43rd Parliament, which will be sworn into office in the coming weeks.
The document outlines the role the company plays as a low-cost, reliable supplier of electricity and reinforces its unique and crucial position as Canada’s largest public-private partnership securing jobs, delivering innovation and private sector investment.
The document also highlights how the production of life-saving medical isotopes is growing at Bruce Power as the company looks to ensure Canada continues to be a leader in isotope production.
“The 43rd Parliament of Canada will see many new faces both in terms of elected officials and the staff that will play a critical role in supporting them,” said James Scongack, Bruce Power’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs & Operational Services. “We will continue to be proactive in discussing the role we play as a low-cost generator and the facts about our operation to all Members of Parliament.
“We power more for less. We provide 30 per cent of Ontario’s electricity at 30 per cent less than the average price to generate power. The 22,000 direct and indirect jobs from our operation invigorate communities and businesses throughout Ontario.”
