Globotech, Inc. opens Port Elgin office to support Major Component Replacement Project

An engineering and project services company is the latest nuclear supplier to open a local office to support Bruce Power’s Life-Extension Program.

Globotech Inc. opened its doors and cut the ribbon today at its new office – located at 594 Goderich St., Unit 3 with about guests and dignitaries in attendance. The company expects to have two employees working out of the local office, with another 87 employees will be on site at Bruce Power in support of  the Major Component Replacement (MCR) Project.

For just over a decade, Globotech has provided a wide range of engineering services and solutions to the nuclear industry, including support to Ontario’s refurbishment and modification projects such as the Life-Extension Program at Bruce Power. Globotech’s team of professionals has extensive knowledge of the nuclear industry’s regulations, standards and licence requirements in Canada, allowing it to provide a wide spectrum of solutions to its clients.

“Globotech is very excited to expand operations to Saugeen Shores and looking forward to developing strong and lasting partnerships within the community,” said Hossein Zand, Director. “Globotech is committed to provide continuous support to Bruce Power and be part of the life extension journey.”

Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and CEO, welcomed Globotech to the local nuclear supplier community.

“Globotech joins almost 60 nuclear supplier companies that have established a local presence in Bruce, Grey and Huron counties,” Rencheck said. “Opening its offices in Port Elgin will allow Globotech to quickly integrate itself into the community by supporting local programs and hiring local people. We look forward to growing our relationship and welcome Globotech.”

Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau is pleased to have the company make the decision to open an office in the municipality.

“We’re pleased Globotech Inc. has found a home in Saugeen Shores,” said Charbonneau. “Our community welcomes this team of professionals supporting the nuclear industry’s engineering needs and wishes them all the best on their continued success, both locally and beyond.”
