Bruce Power proud to be sole sponsor of 65th annual Wiarton Willie Festival

Bruce Power is excited to be the sole sponsor of the 65th annual Wiarton Willie celebration, which will feature a virtual prediction on the morning of Feb. 2.

“Due to COVID-19 we have had to pivot and think of ways to keep the Wiarton Willie celebration alive,” said Janice Jackson, Mayor of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. “With the generosity of our Platinum Sponsor Bruce Power, we have something special planned to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the festival. We hope you tune into your social media platforms and your favourite morning TV show on Groundhog Day to see this special prediction.”

Though the annual in-person festivities won’t take place this year, the world-renowned groundhog will make his prediction virtually.

“Although we can’t be together to see Wiarton Willie predict whether or not we will have an early spring, we can all be together virtually,” said Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and CEO. “It’s an honour for Bruce Power to support the festival and to join the Wiarton community in celebration of Willie’s annual appearance in February.”
