Community Living Kincardine and District received $50,000 from Bruce Power to assist with their Inspiring Possibilities ‘Here at Home’ Capital Campaign.
This is the second of five installments from Bruce Power to assist with the funds needed to complete the new energy efficient 12-unit apartment complex located south of Kincardine on Saratoga Road. The wheelchair accessible complex features larger living quarters, kitchen improvements and will provide tenants with a much safer living environment.
“It’s important that we support local initiatives that resonate with our employees and the community,”
said Jeff Phelps, Vice President, Project Management & Construction.
“Providing the funds to help build a safer home for the residents is also in keeping with Bruce Power’s value of ‘Safety First’ both on and off site.”
More than $900,000 has been raised to date with a goal to reach $1.3 million by the end of 2015.
“The support we’ve received from Bruce Power and the local community for this project has truly been tremendous,”
said Charles Liddle, Community Living Kincardine and District Board Member.
“We’re looking at a final push to get us to our end goal over the next few months.”
Additional fundraising events for the project will include a Health and Wellness Fair in Kincardine, on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Kincardine Legion, and a golf tournament on Friday, July 11, at Ainsdale Golf Club.
