To honour first responders who died while saving lives on Sept. 11, 2001, Bruce Power has donated $6,000 to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation (CFFF).

“Although we should pay our respects to these brave heroes every day, their courage on Sept. 11, 2001, will forever remind us of the selfless acts firefighters perform each time they put on their uniform,”

said Duncan Hawthorne, Bruce Power President and CEO.

“The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation assists the families of these heroes while honouring their memories through an annual service in Ottawa, and Bruce Power is incredibly proud to play a role in the good work it does.”

In 2012, the CFFF completed the new Canadian Firefighters Memorial in Ottawa just west of Parliament Hill, and near the Canadian War Museum. The memorial honours firefighters of Canada who died in the line of duty and provides a place for their families, and all Canadians, to reflect on their heroism.
