As part of its ongoing social media outreach efforts, Bruce Power has released an update to its iPad App.

The Bruce Power App includes up-to-date information on the company’s position in Ontario’s supply mix, its role in the province’s Long-Term Energy Plan and its environmental and sustainability efforts, which include the purchase of an electric car and installation of a public charging station. In addition to the original Cost and Clean Air Calculator, the updated App features new calculators that measure the savings people can realize through conservation and by driving an electric car vs. gas.

The new features on the updated iPad App really speak to what’s important in Ontario today – safe, reliable and carbon-free energy from Ontario’s nuclear fleet, as well as finding ways to conserve energy and protect the environment in our daily lives,

said Duncan Hawthorne, Bruce Power’s President and CEO.

“Bruce Power does so much more than produce 30% of Ontario’s energy, and we hope people will download the new version of our App to see how far we’ve come in just a year.”

The iPad App, which is available through the iTunes store or at, is part of Bruce Power’s family of social media tools, which include Facebook (, Twitter @Bruce_Power and YouTube at
