The Bruce Power summer bus tour program is set to commence at the Visitors’ Centre on July 7 with three tours a day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday throughout July and August.

Scheduled at noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. the free tours begin with a short film presentation in the Centre’s theatre followed by a one-hour bus tour of the Bruce Power site. Pre-registration online is recommended to ensure seating. Individuals without access to the Internet can call 519-361-7777.

We’re pleased to be offering the tours again this summer,

said James Scongack, Vice President, Corporate Affairs.<

“Last year public interest exceeded our expectations, so this summer we’ve added an additional noon-hour tour.”

Last summer more than 1,600 people signed up for the bus tours with an additional 2,500 drop-in visitors arriving to view the exhibits and displays. This year is shaping up to be just as busy. To date in 2015, more than 1,600 individuals have dropped by the Visitors’ Centre.

For the third summer in a row we’re extending our regular Monday to Friday hours to include Saturdays,

said Scongack.

“Being the world’s largest operating nuclear site and the area’s largest employer means there is a lot of public curiosity about Bruce Power. We’re happy to educate even more people about our site this summer.”
