Unit 6 was safely removed from service today so Hydro One could complete work in the switchyard. The unit is not expected to be offline for long.

Unit 8 update

Unit 8 was resynchronized to Ontario’s electrical grid today 24 hours ahead of plan after a two-day forced outage to address high temperatures in the vault. A feeder cabinet panel was found partially open so it was closed and secured shut.READ MORE >

Unit 8 was safely removed from service this morning to investigate an elevated vault temperature reading. The forced outage is projected to take three days to complete.

Unit 6 update

Unit 6 was returned to service today after a short-duration outage. All Bruce B units are currently providing nearly 20% of Ontario’s electricity while Bruce A is in the midst of its Station Containment Outage, with all four units offline.

Unit 8 update

Unit 8 was safely returned to service today after a planned maintenance outage, which began Jan. 15. The unit is now poised to provide 822 megawatts of carbon-free electricity during the peak periods that occur during Ontario’s summer months. e.
