Bruce Power partners with municipalities to improve local health care
Bruce Power has partnered with the municipalities of Saugeen Shores and Kincardine to successfully attract new physicians to our communities.
We believe that access to health care is an essential element to a vibrant, sustainable local community.
This commitment, through the hiring of Peggy Zeppieri, a full-time Physician Recruitment Specialist, in 2010 has provided the opportunity to expand the physician search throughout Canada and the U.S. with great success. Since the inception of the partnership, we have seen the relocation of a number of full-time emergency room and family physicians, as well as a general surgeon, to the area.
“The Town of Saugeen Shores has benefited greatly through the generosity of Bruce Power’s assistance in our physician recruitment efforts,” said David Smith, the municipality’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). “The physical and fiscal resources Bruce Power has provided in support of the health of our community have had a positive impact on the pressures facing our emergency department in particular.”
Sharon Chambers, Kincardine’s CAO, echoes this sentiment.
“The Municipality of Kincardine appreciates and values the partnership with Bruce Power in the ongoing physician recruitment program,” Chambers said. “The company’s support is a major factor in the success we have achieved in attracting top-notch medical personnel to our community.”
Physician recruitment is a continuous cycle in an ever-changing landscape, and we will continue supporting the local municipalities in their search for doctors.
