We must never take this public support for granted and that’s why we have programs to underline our commitment to safe and environmentally friendly operations. It’s why we’re open in communicating about our technology and operations, and invest in the betterment of our communities.
Our 4,000+ employees also strive to make their communities a better place by volunteering countless hours to strengthening the towns and villages of Bruce, Grey and Huron counties.
Bruce Power’s ongoing operations and life-extension program bring with them significant economic activity and we want to ensure our community shares in these benefits. That’s why we have improved our contracting process to encourage economic growth within Bruce, Grey and Huron counties, and across Ontario.
As part of this improved process, companies doing work with Bruce Power will now provide a breakdown of the total price of the work to be completed within Bruce, Grey, Huron counties, and across the province, while also indicating total value of work that will be performed in Canada. The evaluation process for companies wanting to work with us will increasingly favour responses where the greatest added value of the work is contributed closest to Bruce site, and will also be asked to provide information on how their work will contribute to local economic growth.

Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business
Bruce Power has joined forces with Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, which supports us as we progressively improve our Indigenous program, seeking best practices for Indigenous relations. We are immensely proud to have received a Gold designation in CCAB’s Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) program, which confirms corporate performance at various levels.
This prestigious certification program confirms we are a good business partner, a great place to work and committed to increasing the prosperity of Aboriginal communities. Our Supply Chain also told suppliers this year that they would receive preference when seeking a contract if they were members of CCAB and actively involved in becoming PAR certified.
