Bruce Power and Supplier partners donate nearly $100,000 to Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario

In honour of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this September, Bruce Power and its Supplier partners have donated $97,500 to support the efforts of the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO).

This year, Bruce Power has donated $60,000 to POGO, while the Supplier Sponsorship Program will contribute $37,500 to the organization, which provides support to children, families, survivors and others affected by childhood cancer. Since 2019, Bruce Power has donated $300,000 and Bruce Power’s Suppliers have donated $238,000 to support POGO’s highest priority programs.

“Bruce Power and our Supplier partners are honoured to support the work POGO does to improve the lives of children and families affected by cancer,” said Pat Dalzell, Bruce Power’s Executive Director, Corporate Affairs. “We are also immensely proud of our role in producing medical isotopes that are used to sterilize medical equipment and treat cancer around the world.”

“Thank you, Bruce Power and Supplier partners, for your outstanding leadership and continued commitment to championing childhood cancer care in Ontario and beyond,” said Lynne Wilson, POGO’s Chief Development Officer. “Your on-going support and partnership are instrumental in achieving an excellent and integrated childhood cancer system. We are inspired by you, who share over vision and enable informed solutions that are critical to our success.”

The Bruce Power Supplier Sponsorship Program aligns the company’s vendor partners with local, provincial and national non-profit organizations that focus on Indigenous youth, health and wellness organizations, Canadian veterans, community initiatives, and hospital foundations. Forty-four Suppliers are supporting the program in 2023, raising nearly $700,000.
