Bruce Power is calling on its neighbours to participate in a survey to help the company get a better picture of how residents live, work, and play in the area surrounding its site.
The 2025 Local Population Survey is for residents who live within 10 kilometres of the Bruce Power site and those who participate in Bruce Power’s Environment Monitoring Program. This survey gathers helpful information about the food and water that is consumed, and certain lifestyle activities such as swimming and fishing. This survey was last completed in 2015 and will be used to support our commitment to protect residents and the environment.
A second, short survey is being conducted to gather anonymous data regarding health and well-being. This information will be used to determine baseline conditions of the local area for the Bruce C Project Impact Assessment.
Identity and contact information, if provided, will be kept confidential. Participants will be able to access a summary of the survey findings later this year on the Bruce Power website. Information from the health and well-being survey will be included in the Bruce C Impact Statement.
If you reside within the survey area, you will receive a postcard in the mail with the survey instructions and ways you can complete the survey. The survey opens Aug. 1 and closes Sept. 9.
“Bruce Power is committed to protecting the people who live near our site and it’s a community that shares our passion about the protection of the environment,” said Danielle LaCroix, Senior Director, Environment and Sustainability. “We continually engage with local communities, including residents and Indigenous Nations and communities, to better understand their needs and expectations”
