Field Trips

At the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre, we deliver interactive, engaging, and curriculum-connected presentations for students from kindergarten to grade 12, as well as post-secondary. Our programs are designed to make learning about energy, electricity, and careers in the nuclear industry fun, memorable, and age appropriate.

During your experience, students begin in our 100-person theatre, where we explore Bruce Power by educating and interacting with the audience. We will ask for volunteers to join us on stage!

Power Pals

(Kindergarten – Primary Grades)

Power Pals introduces our youngest learners to the basics of energy in a fun and exciting way.

Students:

  • Explore what energy is and where it comes from
  • Participate in hands-on demonstrations
  • Try on real personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Volunteer on stage to assist with safe, engaging experiments
  • Use our interactive light-up energy rods to see energy in action

This program focuses on curiosity, teamwork, and sparking an early interest in science and technology.

Nuclear Navigators

(Junior & Intermediate Grades)

Our Nuclear Navigators experience is a dynamic, immersive program that begins in our 100-seat theatre.

In this engaging session, students:

  • Learn how Bruce Power generates electricity
  • Explore Ontario’s energy mix
  • Participate in a live, hands-on experiment on stage
  • Volunteers will be asked to come on stage to try on personal protective equipment used in the nuclear stations during our safety portion of the program
  • Interact using our light-up energy rods
  • Take part in a fun energy-themed matching game (time permitting)

Following the theatre presentation, students move into our Exhibit Hall for self-guided exploration and Exhibit Hall challenge.

Exhibit Hall & Exhibit Hall Challenge

(All Grades)

Our Exhibit Hall features interactive displays and hands-on learning stations that explore:

  • Nuclear energy and how it works
  • Electricity generation and the stations
  • Safety systems and technology
  • Environmental safety
  • Careers

Students participate in our Exhibit Hall Challenge, where they work in small groups to answer questions, solve clues, and engage deeply with the exhibits. This structured activity encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and active learning.

High School HR (Careers) Presentation

Our High School HR (Careers) presentation is designed for senior students exploring future pathways. This presentation can be done virtually or in our theatre.

Students will:

  • Learn about careers at Bruce Power
  • Explore opportunities in skilled trades, engineering, operations, and corporate roles
  • Discover student opportunities, apprenticeship and post-secondary pathways
  • Understand the skills and education required for various roles
  • Ask questions about working in the nuclear and energy industry

This session connects classroom learning to real-world career opportunities and highlights the wide range of professions that support clean electricity generation.
