Bruce Power launches community portal, seeks input from public on topics of interest related to energy sector

In an effort to ensure it continues to provide the information the public is looking for, Bruce Power has established a Community Portal on its website where members of the public can ask questions, provide feedback and engage with our community relations team.

Bruce Power has a robust program in place to ensure public inquiries receive a prompt and factual response and we will continue to develop this section of our website to better engage with the community.

Bruce Power’s website is a place to learn about our technology, safety measures, emergency response organization, community outreach initiatives, career opportunities, and much more. If you have a question about Bruce Power, please email us at info@brucepower.com.

Also, with the assistance of Ipsos, Bruce Power will be conducting independent public opinion research among residents of Bruce, Grey and Huron counties in the New Year.

This research helps Bruce Power ensure it has a good understanding of the public’s attitudes and opinions toward nuclear power, its role in the community, its Life-Extension Program, and how effectively we communicate with residents.

Ipsos will be conducting the research via telephone and questions will focus on a number of topics and issues, including support for and knowledge of Bruce Power, the nuclear industry, medical isotopes, and other energy related initiatives.

Community polling is just one of the ways Bruce Power connects with local residents and Indigenous communities. Bruce Power uses a variety of methods to communicate with the public about our ongoing operations through radio, newspaper and TV advertising, mail-outs, online events, press releases and social media. The company also provided free bus tours to thousands of visitors from its Visitors’ centre each summer prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In Bruce Power’s most recent public attitude research, conducted in 2020, eighty per cent of respondents said they believe Bruce Power keeps people updated through regular communications, while 86 per cent of people familiar with Bruce Power feel ‘excellent,’ ‘very good,’ or ‘good’ about the organization.

Results of the polling will be available on the Bruce Power website.
