Bruce Power named as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 2023

Bruce Power has been named as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 2023 in recognition of its continued journey to integrate its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) program to sustain a positive workplace.

The company has made great strides over the past several years in shifting the composition of its workforce by providing opportunities for everyone and measuring itself against its goals and peers.

“We’re proud of the work we’ve done in making Bruce Power an inclusive workplace and providing positive experiences and opportunities for everyone,” said Cathy Sprague, Executive Vice-President, Human Resources. “Fostering a diverse and talented workforce allows us to power our communities and Ontario forward through inspired collaboration and innovation and build a workplace where we can all flourish.”

The focus of Bruce Power’s diversity initiatives includes a focus on attracting, developing and promoting diverse talent. Part of this is training our managers to integrate the foundations of diversity, equity and inclusion to ensure all employees understand the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Bruce Power also has several groups that are passionate about creating a more inclusive workplace and improving awareness and education around the importance of diversity, including its Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Indigenous Network and Women in Nuclear.

Bruce Power’s DEI programming is driving business results by measuring its performance in several ways, including benchmarking external best practices, partnership with a data and analytics company supporting organizations to become more inclusive, and tracking and improving diversity initiatives and our other environment and sustainability goals through a formal Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) balanced scorecard.
