Bruce Power and suppliers make $112,500 donation to Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada

Bruce Power and its supplier partners have made a $112,500 donation to Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada as part of Brain Tumour Awareness Week, which runs Oct. 28-Nov. 4.

The donation, which includes $75,000 from Bruce Power and $37,500 from more than 40 members of the nuclear supply chain through Bruce Power’s Supplier Sponsorship Program, will assist Brain Tumour Foundation in its mandate to support and provide resources for people on their brain tumour journey, as well as their families.

“Employees of Bruce Power hold the work of the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada close to their hearts because we’re one of the world’s largest suppliers of the medical isotope cobalt-60, which is used to treat brain tumours and breast cancer, as well as sterilize billions of medical devices every year,” said Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and CEO. “We are proud to support the Brain Tumour Foundation in its important work, supporting people with brain tumours and their families.”

The Bruce Power Supplier Sponsorship Program aligns the company’s vendor partners with local, provincial and national non-profit organizations that focus on Indigenous youth, health and wellness organizations, Canadian veterans, community initiatives, and hospital foundations. Forty-four Suppliers are supporting the program in 2023, raising nearly $700,000.
