Technology and innovation are at the core of our business and we’re proud to promote the education of future energy workers with a $250,000 donation to the Ontario Tech University.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Ontario Tech recognized the donation by designating a cutting-edge lab in its Energy Research Centre (ERC) as the Bruce Power Thermalhydraulics Laboratory. The University said the generous investment by Bruce Power will have a tremendous positive impact by offering students access to advanced facilities and resources.

The ERC houses the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science’s Nuclear Engineering programs, the Centre for Small Modular Reactors, and other energy labs and learning spaces, serving as a hub for Ontario Tech’s specialized education programs and research in geothermal, hydrogen, natural gas, nuclear, solar and wind energy technologies.

Bruce Power has a history of collaboration with Ontario Tech, exemplified by such initiatives as the Bruce Power Engineering Internships for Women program. This program plays an instrumental role in building a more inclusive nuclear-sector workforce by nurturing a diverse pipeline of future energy professionals. Participating Ontario Tech students benefit from invaluable hands-on learning experiences and mentorship opportunities that facilitate their transition into careers in the nuclear energy sector.
