2021 Sustainability Report reinforces Bruce Power’s commitment to community, climate action

Bruce Power has released its 2021 Sustainability Report, which provides clear, relevant disclosure of the company’s Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments, with actions that drive tangible benefits in the near term.

“Bruce Power has always had environmental and social principles engrained in our core values,” said Danielle LaCroix, Bruce Power’s Director of Environment and Sustainability. “Our approach to sustainability is integrated across the organization and has significant positive impacts on our local communities as we support the province with its decarbonization goals.

“We recognize these practices can be achieved while ensuring the continued delivery of clean energy to the province at a stable, affordable rate. In fact, as we are demonstrating at Bruce Power, ESG done right will see the alignment of economic growth with people and the planet, where all can be advanced towards a better tomorrow.”

The 2021 Sustainability Report focuses on quantitative disclosure for 15 of the company’s ESG Key Performance Indicators and targets that fall into four categories – Environment, People and Safety, Products and Services, and Community.

The report outlines collaborations on many innovative projects that protect the environment, such as increasing our output capacity of carbon-free energy, improving waterways, developing carbon offset opportunities, planting trees, mitigating invasive species, and studying climate change.
