Frequently Asked Questions about applying for a job at Bruce Power.

Candidate HomeAccount/Profile Setup

Q: How do I create a Candidate Account/Profile?
A: You can create an account/candidate profile one of two ways. After you apply for a position you will be prompted to create a new account. Or you can select the “sign in” option on the top right hand side of the current opportunities listing, then select “create account”.

You will be sent an account verification email with a link to verify your account. When you receive this email, if you click on the link and it does not work, please copy and paste the link contained in the email directly into your browser.

A: Password must be eight characters long and contain at least one capital letter, one number and one special character

Q: What information will be saved on my profile?
A: Your name, contact information, work experience and education will be stored for future applications. Any attachments submitted will not be saved for future applications.

Q: What does the status of an application mean when it says “Active”? And “Not Selected”?
A: Your status on a job application will show as Active until you are no longer being considered for the opportunity. Your status will change to Not Selected if you are no longer being considered for the opportunity. You will receive an email notification if your application has been dispositioned.

You must apply for a job online

Q: How does “Quick Apply” work?
A: Quick apply is the ability to quickly upload your resume and our system will extract the details of your resume and input them into our application fields on your behalf (this is known as resume parsing). After using Quick Apply, you should review the job application fields to ensure the information is correct. If you do not wish to use Quick Apply, simply click “Next” and fill in the fields yourself. You will be able to attach your resume and other documents at another step in the application process.

Q: Will my application be visible on my LinkedIn profile?
A: No. When candidates apply to a Bruce Power job posting by linking their LinkedIn profile to the application, there is not badge or signifier that gets placed on the applicants LinkedIn profile that would be visible to any external viewer. LinkedIn keeps job applications off of a candidates profile for anonymity.

Q: What formats and what size of documents can I upload as an attachment?
A: You can upload DOC, DOCX, HTML, PDF, or TXT file types (5MB total max). Zip files cannot be processed.

Q: Does the system recognize special characters?
A: Yes. Workday has no problem recognizing special characters.

Q: Can I stop my application process and continue again at a later date?
A: No. Once you start the application process, you must continue through to submission or begin again. Your data will not be saved until submitted.

Q: What happens if I need to make changes to my application after it is submitted?
A: Once your online application and attachments are submitted, you will not be able to make changes. If you have additional information to add to your application, please reapply with the new information. If you are not able to reapply, please contact hrhelpdesk@brucepower.com.
