Want to work at Bruce Power? Here’s what to expect!

Step 1: Apply Online
Bruce Power uses an online recruitment process; we are not able to accept applications submitted via email, fax, mail or in person.

To apply for a position at Bruce Power, visit our current opportunities and complete the online application by inputting information or by importing your professional profile from LinkedIn.

To allow us to assess your skills and experiences against the hiring criteria please ensure you complete the application in full and attach a resume as well as any other relevant documents that you believe should be included i.e. cover letter, certificates, transcripts, etc.

Once you have completed and submitted your online application form you will be notified immediately on your screen that your application has been submitted successfully. You will also receive an auto-generated email from our recruitment system acknowledging receipt of your application.

Step 2: Screening and Shortlisting
Your application will be reviewed and screened against skills, qualifications and hiring criteria outlined in the job posting. Our screening process includes a review of the applicant’s education, experience, skills and answers to the screening questions asked through the online application process.

Applicants who best match the requirements will be contacted via phone and/or email for the next phase of the recruitment process, which could be an assessment and/or an interview.

Step 3: Assessment and Interview
Candidates may be invited to participate in skills or aptitude assessment testing. All assessments have been approved by Bruce Power, and are designed to evaluate each candidate’s job-related proficiency. Interviews will be behavioural-based interviews conducted by a panel.

Step 4: References and Background Check
Our background check process includes a full security check and medical clearance process as well as reference checks. The security clearance process includes a comprehensive list of previous residences, employment, education and other pertinent information.

You will also be required to submit supporting documentation. More information regarding security clearance will be provided to you by your Recruiter. You will also be requested to complete a reference consent form to allow us to contact references. You will be asked to provide contact information from previous managers that will act as references.

Step 5: Offer of Employment
If you have been identified as the successful candidate, a conditional offer of employment will be made. Our employment offers are conditional on your ability to obtain security and medical clearance.

Step 6: Onboarding
Once all conditions of employment have been met and a hire date has been established, you will receive a link to our onboarding portal along with instructions on what you will need to do.

On your first day you will attend a full-day orientation session to ensure you have all of the information required to be successful in your new job. Congratulations!
